Hostas are blooming now. Not a terribly attractive flowers (it's lavendar, but kind of small and scrubby), but the plants are very healthy.

Had the remainder of the harvested peas last night, cooked, in an Asian dish. Here's the recipe:

1/3 of a small red cabbage, shredded
1 bag of frozen Chinese vegetables, assorted
soy sauce
cilantro
basil
mint
tofu
grill seasoning
olive oil
flour
1 package Lipton noodles & sauce teriyaki style
peas from garden (about 1/2 cup)

In a large pot, begin boiling water. Simultaneously, heat up olive oil in a frying pan and begin to make the noodles & sauce in a dish in the microwave.
Cube the tofu and cover with flour and grill seasoning. Fry until coating is brown and crunchy. Set aside and drain any excess oil on paper towels.
Leave noodles & sauce mix covered so as to retain heat.
Drop shredded cabbage into boiling water and let boil for about 10 minutes. In the meantime, tear up cilantro leaves into a small bowl. Add equal amounts of dried basil and dried mint leaves. Set aside.
Pour soy sauce into boiling water (don't go overboard here). Mix through and cook cabbage for another 5 minutes. Add package of frozen vegetables and stir. Cook together for another 5 - 10 minutes until frozen vegetables are hot. Add peas and cook for 2 minutes only. Remove from heat and drain as soon as possible. Cabbage should be lavendar while peas are still bright green.

Serve as follows: place a bed of noodles & sauce in a bowl or on a plate. Layer vegetables and tofu on top. Sprinkle with spice mixture, to taste. Add soy sauce, if desired.

* Can also add hot sesame oil to boiling cabbage.

The peas have done so well, I now regret not having planted any cherry tomatoes. Ah well, there's always next year.

More peas outside. It's getting humid again, due to fires in Quebec. See:
